The Restoration Roundup is Restoration Intel’s daily sweep of what the industry actually said in the last 24 hours — across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Threads, the trade press, and the restoration podcasts. Only substantive items run: product news, data, named opinions, hires and moves, event announcements. No engagement bait, no filler — and on quiet days, we say so instead of padding.
A one-item Saturday: Nick Hindle of PuroClean explains how a coffee conversation became the SPAR program — the standards gate between vendors and a national franchise network. One item made the cut.
PuroClean’s SPAR program: vendor partnerships built on standards, not handshakes
On R&R Magazine’s Ask the Expert podcast (Friday, Oct 30), Nick Hindle of PuroClean describes how SPAR evolved from a simple coffee conversation into PuroClean’s vendor partnership program, organized around standards, security, accountability, technology, and innovation. The host is Kayla McGowan, PuroClean’s SPAR Partner Manager, who manages the company’s vendor partnership ecosystem and serves as the liaison between PuroClean, its approved vendor partners, internal stakeholders, and Franchise Owners. The episode runs just under 32 minutes.
Why it matters: Vendor access to a franchise network is usually a sales relationship. SPAR, as Hindle tells it, is a standards relationship — vendors earn their way in against named criteria and stay accountable to them. For any vendor selling into restoration franchises, and any operator wondering who corporate has vetted and why, this is the clearest public account yet of how one major network runs that gate.
Quiet on the wires
Checked and quiet in the last 24 hours: Encircle, Kahi, Albiware and Alex Duta, ATI Restoration, ARC Facilities, Floodlight Group, the Restoration Industry Association, and the IICRC posted nothing substantive. C&R Magazine’s newest post remains yesterday’s Compliance Blind Spot episode, which ran in Friday’s edition. R&R’s Jeff Moore economics piece, “The Cost of Losing Good Restorers,” published twelve minutes before the window opened and sits outside it. BELFOR’s only in-range post was an Italian theater job photo set from before the window. Paul Davis, SERVPRO, and PuroClean ran heavy local franchise volume — job walkthroughs, before-and-afters, and ads — with no corporate news in it. The DYOJO published nothing with a verifiable date. No other podcast on the watchlist released a new episode in the window: Restoration Today, Phil & Michelle’s Happy Hour, Restoration Rundown, and Albi After Hours all stand at their last episodes. The Threads sweep returned art and auto restoration only, the Facebook newsfeed pass was personal only, and the LinkedIn sweep returned a company-page shell with no verifiable in-window news. The Roundup prints what ran.
The Roundup sweeps a standing watchlist of restoration companies, voices, trade press, and podcasts. The full source list, the bench of candidates, and every past edition live on the Restoration Roundup home page. Should be on this list? The watchlist grows from what the industry itself amplifies — if a voice is missing, tell us.
Tip the desk
This week’s ask: One claims number you’re seeing. Cycle time, supplement turnaround, adjuster response time — one number, your market, no company names needed.
The Roundup runs on what the industry says in public. Tips run on what operators are seeing before it posts. The best tips run in the next edition under From the field, credited exactly how the sender chooses: name, company, or anonymous. Nothing runs without the sender’s chosen credit, and a photo only runs if it is the sender’s to share.
How to send one: join the email edition below and reply to any Roundup email with your tip. A WhatsApp tip line is coming to this page when the desk’s dedicated business number opens — until then, email replies are the desk’s front door.
